They were flying over the Huron River in northwest Ann Arbor, near the intersection of Maple Road and Huron River Drive. If you've seen them in the area, please leave a comment below where you've seen them. Thanks! http://www.salinemichiganrealestate.com/004AE2
Comment from: Karen Moorhead [Visitor] I heard that bald eagle was seen a few months ago. Now I believe it. I thought they had seen turkey vultures which we have as well. Is there any way that's what these are?
Congrats on having your camera. Oh and I live right by there. I'll keep looking. Hi Vance, I have seen a pair on the Huron River for years right near my house. I live in Dexter. I saw the flying just the other day along the river and the Dexter Cider Mill. Comment from: Vance Shutes [Member] @Karen - By the time I grabbed my camera, they had flown further away. But they got as close at 50' away overhead, with distinct white head and broad white tail. They were eagles, without a doubt. @Wendy - It's amazing how many people have seen the eagles in our area now. I hope they remain in the area and nest. After the issues of pollution damaging the birds in the 70s, it would be great to see them repopulate our area! Thanks to both of you for visiting and leaving a comment! Much appreciated!
Vance, I have seen them in downtown Saline before. They aren't as rare as people would think, but are still an awesome sight when you do see them! Comment from: Vance Shutes [Member] @Karl - So true! I've seen them before in northern Michigan, but not around here before. It's an arresting sight, for sure! Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment! Don't be a stranger!
