Leave a comment » Eye levelLook up!Today's article is written to plant the seed of an idea in your mind. On your way home from work today, or the next time you stop at any place of business, pay close attention to where others look with their eyes. My hunch is that most folks never look above eye level. And that, my friends, is truly sad. These days, so many of us are bogged down in our own troubles that we rarely lift up our head. We seem to have lost the ability to look up. And we're missing so much, as a result. For example, recently I wrote about a pair of Bald Eagles which I saw over the Huron River in Ann Arbor. Without looking above eye level, I would have missed a terrific sight! On sunny days, I love to grab my camera and go out on a photowalk. If you check out some of my work in downtown Saline over the winter, you'll see that most of the shots are taken above eye level. There is some amazing architecture in our cities, towns, and villages, yet we'll miss it if we don't lift up our eyes to see. If you check out my random photos over on TwitPic, you'll see that I take a lot of photos of sunrise and sunset. Again, without looking above eye level, we never really see the beautiful sky out there. When was the last time you paid attention to a beautifully-colored sky at sunset? If you need inspiration, there's nothing like a painted sky! My point? We can't escape our troubles. They exist. We can, however, choose how we will address those troubles. As for me, I'll face my troubles with a view above eye level, because it makes me feel better. If you like what you're reading here, please subscribe. Thanks!
