Go pound on a desk

When you write an offer to purchase a Saline home or condo, you’re likely to include a contingency for your mortgage on the house.  (Original article by Vance Shutes).  Today I’d like to relate some experiences with your mortgage.

I’ve written before about working with a local lender.  And that’s what I’d like to emphasize today – a LOCAL lender.

Why is that important?

In simple terms, nothing can replace the ability to go pound on a desk!

What do you mean by that, Vance?

When my clients choose to work with a local mortgage lender, they are invariably happy with the results.  My clients can go to the lender’s office, complete their mortgage application, provide the necessary documents to the lender, and actually shake hands to “seal the deal” on their mortgage.

You can’t do that with an “internet” mortgage lender.

In the unlikely event that there’s a problem with your mortgage application, or, worse yet, a problem in the process immediately before closing on your purchase, you need answers.  While it’s fine to talk on the phone, ideally, you’ll want the re-assurance of meeting face-to-face with your mortgage lender to get the problems resolved, and quickly.

You can’t do that with an “internet” mortgage lender.

And in the even unlikelier event that your mortgage lender is unable (or unwilling) to resolve the problem or issue, nothing will give you greater control over the situation than being able to go “pound on a desk” at your mortgage lender’s office.

You can’t do that with an “internet” mortgage lender.

OK, so have I made myself clear with regard to your mortgage lender?  Stay local.
