Saline Real Estate and Homes for Sale

If you've never been there, you should make a Saturday visit to the Saline Depot Museum.  It's located off E. Bennett Street, and visible from N. Ann Arbor Street in town.  The museum is open only on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm.

At the Depot museum, you'll learn about the early history of Saline, from its founding in the early 1800s until around 1930.  Historical information about Saline from 1930 onward is located at the Rentschler Farm, on Michigan Avenue just east of downtown.

Did you know that Saline was one of the stops along the train route from Detroit to Chicago?  You'll learn about that at the Depot museum.  There's also a railroad caboose located at the museum for you to tour.

If you've followed my blog for any period of time, you know of my interest in history - I've done a lot of reading about the U.S. Revolutionary era, the Civil War era, and the industrialization of America in the 1800s.

At the museum, you'll learn how Saline fit into the changing world of the 1800s - the people involved, the materials they used, how they lived, and many other interesting historical artifacts.

Of course, I took my camera along and shot a few photos.

Make a visit to the Saline Depot Museum today - it's Saturday, after all.
