Saline Sales report for January 2010

The latest sales info for the Saline real estate market.

Here's the latest Saline Sales report for January 2010. This is an update to my regular market report which I report around the middle of the month. (Original article written by Vance Shutes). If you are interested in Saline real estate, here's what happened in January 2010.

Looking first at Saline homes:

It looks like 2010 is getting off to a start of "List my home, please!" In every area, there are more homes for sale at the end of January than there were at the end of December. The number of months of supply more than doubled, from 9.2 in December to 20.3 now. This is a combined result from more homes for sale (223 now, vs. 203 in December) and the number of homes sold last month (11 in January, vs. 22 in December). Certainly the winter weather has had something to do with the lower sales, so let's look toward a warm spring to get those Saline homes sold!

There was an interesting report over at Calculated Risk recently about the number of homes for sale across the United States. Here's their chart (which looks surprisingly like the chart for Saline!):

Now, let's look at Saline condos.

In contrast with Saline homes, in January we saw fewer Saline condos for sale in each area. However, with one less Saline condo sold in January, the months of supply climbed slightly, from 8.5 months in January.

The market for Saline condos has been a significant challenge for much of the past couple of years. Let's hope for a marked improvement this coming spring!
