Saline Real Estate and Homes for Sale

Thanksgiving, that truly American of holidays, is less than two weeks away.  It's an appropriate time to relate some of the things I'm thankful for.  (Article originally written by Vance Shutes).  Here are a few things I'm really thankful for this year:

• Homes are selling. Despite what you hear or read in the news, home sales continue to be brisk in our area. If you have to sell, you can!
• Interest rates are low. While not at their historic lows of this past summer, you can still get an interest rate that begins with a 5. That's a really good thing!
• Plenty of choices. OK, you may have heard this in the news, but probably in a negative light. If you're a buyer, you've got plenty of homes to choose from. If you're looking to sell, you have to respect the competition.
• The internet. The mere fact that you're reading this blog proves my point. The internet is the single best tool for doing research in real estate.
• Professionals. When I go to meetings with other Realtors® in our area, the faces I see are familiar - they are the Professionals, the ones who know how to survive and even thrive in this economy. For me, it's a whole lot more fun to work with a pro than a part-time agent.
• My clients. Thank you! Without you to serve, I wouldn't be here. I am ever so thankful for each and every one of you!
• My family. Your patience in putting up with my antics, my schedule, and my stories, makes each day brighter!
• My health. I'm thankful for a decision made more than five years ago, to change my lifestyle and exercise regularly. It's a whole lot easier to keep pace in this business when you're in good shape. Nobody gets old by surprise. If you make a commitment, however small, to take better care of yourself today, your tomorrows will be better. Trust me on this.

In some of my recent readings, I came across a story which I can only paraphrase.  If you invited a dozen strangers into a room with a huge table in the middle, and each of you laid all your troubles on the table before you, after examining each other's troubles, you would gladly pick up your own once again.  No matter how troubled you may be, there are others in this world with significantly greater challenges to be faced.  Remember to be thankful for what you have.

Over the next couple of days, take some quiet time for yourself and put together your own list of things that YOU are thankful for.  You'll then be able to truly celebrate THANKSGIVING.
