Here's an updated list of the Top Ten bargains in Saline for the end of January. (Original article by Vance Shutes). Each time that I write about the Top Ten bargains in Saline, the articles tend to be some of the most popular.
From my previous articles, you have learned that one of the simplest ways to determine whether a property is considered as a "bargain" is to look at how the property is priced relative to what the tax assessor thinks the property is worth. In Michigan, we use the "State Equalized Value", or SEV, prepared by the local tax assessor each year. As of the end of January, 2010, here are the Top Ten bargains in Saline, and how they look as compared with the SEV.
At the top of the list this month is 341 Payeur. This is a 2200 square foot brick ranch home on a slab (no basement), sits on 2 acres, and is a foreclosure. The bank is selling it at nearly a 50% discount from what the local tax assessor thinks the home is worth! There must be something about Payeur Road, as the third home on the list this month is at 45 Payeur. This is another foreclosure, with 1100 square feet on a slab, sitting on just over a half-acre.
